The High‑Flying (But Never Quite Airborne) Entertainer is back on Saturday 4th July.

Get ready for one of the most charmingly eccentric sights of Somerset Armed Forces Day, Roger Blighty, the vintage styled aviator who patrols the event atop his magnificent, wing equipped pennyfarthing flying machine.

Dressed in full retro pilot gear, leather jacket, goggles, cap and all, Roger salutes the crowds with RAF pride as he pedals his aircraft that isn’t quite an aircraft. With every wobble, every “take off attempt”, and every dramatic failure to leave the ground, he brings laughter, nostalgia, and pure British whimsy to the day.

Roger Blighty is more than a walkabout act, he’s a living tribute to the spirit of Blighty itself: cheerful, resilient, and always ready for a bit of fun. A favourite with families, veterans, and anyone who appreciates a good old fashioned chuckle, he’s guaranteed to lift the mood even if he never lifts off.

Keep an eye (and an ear) out for the whirr of his propeller…

Roger Blighty is on the move.
