Lock up your daughters,the vikings are coming! Draca Beorðor will be joining us again this year.

Based in the Somerset area, Draca Beorðor is a reenactment group concentrating on the Viking Age and they take it seriously by researching and finding evidence from historical sources and archaeology from within the UK and Europe.

I believe the period referred to as the Viking Age dates from around AD 800 to 1050. The homeland of the Vikings was Scandinavia now known as Denmark, Sweden and Norway from there they mainly travelled by sea and settled in all parts of the UK and further afield.

The reenactment group Draca Beorðor portray the clothing of the Viking Age, the jewellery and utilities used during that period and the equipment used for fighting.
