The musical duo that are Soldiers of Swing first came to light when they entered the 14th series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2020 and they made it to the semi finals, not bad for a couple of guys who had jokingly applied to BGT the previous year.

The singing duo are friends Sergeant Vince Fountain and Corporal Lee Day, army reservists with the 37 Signal Regiment in Sheffield.

But how did they end up becoming the successful singing duo that they are? They were on an average night out when the Soldiers of Swing were formed. They were very popular in their squadron bar and when they started doing gigs it was in retirement homes and parties for pensioners and now they are performing at people’s birthdays, still at care homes, at wedding and anniversary parties, at barbeques and garden parties, in clubs and pubs, in theatres, events and festivals and of course for us at Armed Forces Day on the 6th July.

Check out this interview with the boys by the Forces Net in 2019: https://www.forces.net/…/soldiers-swing-yorkshire…

They certainly have come on far since their karaoke days.
