We have to thank corzamedical the home of Pearalls Limited, a local business here in Taunton for their support of Somerset Armed Forces Day this year.
Pearsalls Limited has been a Taunton based company for over 200 years.
Pearsalls Limited was founded in London in 1795 by James Pearsall and at the time traded as James Pearsall and Co Ltd. The company became established in Taunton in 1816.
James Pearsall and Co Ltd originally produced silk for the lace trade. The V & A (Victoria and Albert Museum) have three examples of Pearsalls’ work that was produced between 1875 and 1920.

It was during the 1970’s when Pearsalls changed what they produced, they moved away from the production of silk threads and started manufacturing suture material to be used by the medical profession. The transition to manufacture medical devices was based on Pearsalls’ knowledge and skill of twisting, braiding, dyeing and coating threads. They were the ideal company to make suture material.
Over the years the company has changed ownership several times and is now known as corzamedical, the home of Pearsalls and surgery is at the core of everything they do. They work closely with and listen to surgical professionals and their teams to ensure that the products that are used on a daily basis perform to the needs of the day to day procedures that surgeons and their teams have to perform.
